Biography
Joe Adkisson was born about November 14, 1854 in Texas, United States, son of William Adkisson (1808–1885) and Mary Emerline Scott (1818–1873).
Joe married Bettie LaGrone (born on November 24, 1862; daughter of Adam LaGrone and Mary Katherine Hailey). Their daughter was Annie Adkisson (1887–1966).
In 1860, Joe (5) was living in Leon with his children, Ann E Atkison , and Nancy S Atkison (8); his siblings, Wm Atkison (51), Wm Atkison (11), and Mary E Atkison (2); and Emaline Atkison (41), Jno T Atkison (21), Jas Atkison (13), Joseph Atkison (6), and Thos Dizell (28). [1]
Joe died on April 24, 1910 in Leon, aged 55.[2]
