Notes

Note N208
According to his great-great-grandson Brandon, Jakob was shot by the Nazis a week before the liberation of his camp. He used to run an restaurant where he made the best cholents, that even the Carlifar Rebbe would order from him for the shalosh seudos (sabbath meal in the afternoon). Yaakov would go by horse and wagon to deliver food to people around lunch time as well and then return for the dirty dishes (fast food before paper plates, cardboard and styrofoam?). Brandon was told that the family is a directly descended from a Rabbi Avraham Adler, one of three brothers who were were given three different last names by a big Rabbi. One of the other brothers was named Stern.[6][7]
