MARRIAGE. 29 Feb 1944, Ernest Robert Dudley, son of George Dudley & Bertha May (Topelmann) Dudley

WEDDING REPORT. DUDLEY— ADLER. A pretty wedding was solemnised at St Lawrence's Church, North Adelaide, on February 29. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Fr. O'Hannan. The contracting parties were Winifred Kathleen, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Adler, of Kimba, and Ernest Robert, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. G. Dudley, of Port Lincoln. The bride, who was given away by Mr. Len Buchanan, of Prospect, looked charming in a frock of silk matafasse crepe, with tight fitting bodice and flared skirt merging into a train. The long tulle veil, which was embroidered with satin flowers in each corner, was held in place by a topknot of tuberoses. She carried a sheaf of gladioli, tuberoses and various other flowers, tinged with pink. The bridesmaid, Miss Madge Adler (sister of bride), wore blue matalasse crepe, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations and delphiniums. Her blue tulle veil was held in place by a top knot of pink flowers. The best man was Mr. Syd Kenney (brother-in-law of the bridegroom). As the bride left the church a horseshoe was hung on her arm by Miss Gloria Kenney (bridegroom's niece). Relatives and friends were received at the home of Mrs. Syd Kenney (bridegroom's sister), where the usual toasts were honored, congratulatory telegrams read and a beautifully decorated two-tiered cake cut by the bride. The bride's travelling suit was a grey tailored costume with black accessories. The happy couple spent their honeymoon at Murray Bridge.
