Ulrich Adrian was born on 19 March 1915 at Halberstadt. He joined the Luftwaffe on 3 September 1939 and commenced his flying training with the Jagdfliegerschule at Schleißheim. On completion of his flying training, Adrian was posted to JG 2 on 16 March 1940. Leutnant Adrian was assigned to 1./JG 2 based at Frankfurt-Rebstock. He recorded his first victory on 18 May, when he shot down a RAF Blenheim twin-engine bomber near Arras. He added a further two victories to his tally during the French campaign. Adrian participated in the aerial battles over England during 1940. He added a one further victory to his tally, when he shot down a RAF Spitfire fighter over Dover on 1 September, to raise his victory total to four. On 5 October 1941, Oberleutnant Adrian was appointed Staffelkapitän of 1./JG 2. However, he was killed the same day when his Bf 109 E-7 (W.Nr. 6254) “White 3” crashed near Brest on a training flight due to unknown causes. Ulrich Adrian was credited with five victories.
