Ole married Marie Knudson Dec 2, 1890. St. Petri.^[1] They lived in New Prairie.

In the 1895 Minnesota Census we find Ole Afdem (age 31y) in New Prairie township, Pope, Minnesota, United States. He was born about 1864 in Lesja, Norway. They had a 1 year old daughter Clara and Ole was recorded as living in the State for 14 years. At the same location we find^[2]:

• Maria Afdem - 29y - born in Norway
• Clara Afdem - 1y - born in Minnesota
