Sally was born about 1775. She is probably the daughter of Meshack Africa and Nell Unknown.
She is seen usually as Sally. There is a "Sarah Africa" on the 1850 census that is most likely her.
Sally is the head of a St Brides, Norfolk County household of 5 "other free" in 1810
In 1815 she is a "free negro" taxable with 3 male tithables and 3 cattle
In 1817 she is taxable on a free male
In 1820 she is the head of a Norfolk County household of 8 "free colored persons":
In 1850 there is a "Sarah Africa" as a free black female, aged 75 in the household of Eliza Africa. This is almost surely Sally. Eliza is perhaps a daughter and if so is likely to be one of the "Free Colored Persons - Females - Under 14" in the 1820 census given her age in 1850 (i.e. 40 years old).
