Biography

"[Charles Agar]'s son James (1672-1733), rebuilt the castle [of Gowran] as a modern house in 1713. . ."

James Agar was the son of Charles Agar and Ellis Blancheville.

He married, firstly, Susannah Alexander, daughter of James Alexander, on 10 January 1692.

He married, secondly, Mary Wemyss, daughter of Sir Henry Wemyss.
