William Agee was born on February 5, 1813, in Patrick County, Virginia. He was the son of John Agee and Senny.
He married Lucinda Spencer August 22, 1833 at Patrick County Virginia. They had 15 children together, although several died in childhood. In 1858, their family traveled by wagon train to Missouri and settled in Butler County where he farmed. Lucinda died in 1874 at age 64. On Feb 5, 1880,
William married Lucinda Elizabeth Revelle Cronister at Bollinger County, Missouri. She was the widow of Andrew Cronister, and the mother of nine children. There were no children of this second union although he helped to raise at least five children of her previous marriage.
William made his living as a farmer.
He died in February 1892 in Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri, having lived a long life of age 79 years.
