Robert Agg was born in Gloucestershire, England.

Robert Agg was born in Alderton, Gloucestershire, England before 1833 and was christened on 5 Aprill 1833. ^[1] He is the son of Charles Agg and Ann Stephens.

In the 1841 Census, Robert aged 8 was at home in Alderton, Gloucestershire with his parents Charles and Ann Agg ^[2] along with his siblings:

• James Agg aged 20;
• Hester Agg aged 14;
• Job Agg aged 12;
• William Agg aged 10;
• Emma Agg aged 6;
• Thomas Agg aged 4; and
• Jane Agg aged 3.

Also in the household were Ann Agg aged 80 (possibly the mother of Charles) and William and Robert Stephens (father of Ann Agg), aged 85 and 80.

In the 1851 Census, Robert aged 18 was at home with his parents Charles (a Shoe Maker) and Ann Agg in Alderton, Gloucestershire ^[3] and his siblings:
