Biography

George was born in 1794. He was the son of John Agg, Postmaster of Evesham. He died in 1853.

He worked as a farmer, and as an auctioneer in Evesham.

"The London Gazette, Part 1, 1848

“NOTICE is hereby given, that Samuel Nash, of Haselor, in the hamlet of Charlton, in the county of Worcester, Farmer, hath by an indenture, bearing date the 5th day of January now last past, conveyed and assigned all his real, copyhold, and personal estates and effects, whatsoever and wheresoever, unto John Collins, of Evesham, in the said country of Worcester, Innholder, and George Agg of Haselor aforesaid, Farmer and Auctioneer, in trust, for the equal benefit of such of the creditors of him the said Samuel Nash as should execute the said indenture within two calendar months, to be computed from the day of the date thereof, or who should by writing, within that period, signify to the said John Collins and George Agg, their, his or her consent to execute the issue: and that the said indenture was duly executed by the said Samuel Nash, John Collins and George Agg on the day of the date thereof, and the execution thereof is attested by Henry Workman, of Evesham aforesaid, Solicitor; and further, that the said indenture is now lying at the offices of Messrs. Workman, New, and Prance in Evesham aforesaid, for the inspection and signature of the creditors of the said Samuel Nash. – Evesham, February 3d, 1848.” [1]

NOTE: It is possible that this Samuel NASH is the son of his second wife. Samuel Bradley NASH was the son the Joseph NASH and Anne NASH (nee BRADLEY), who later become Anne AGG (nee BRADLEY).

He married for a second time after his first wife Sophia died in 1848, and left most of his estate to his second wife. His children emigrated to Australia.

He married Anne Nash (nee Bradley) after his first wife died, and Anne is mentioned in his will. He left all to Anne except for a small amount to his "daughter Sophia Sarah Agg now residing at Collingwood Melbourne in Australia.” This daughter did not marry until 1862 in Australia.
