Biography

Ida was born in 1873, probably in Persia, Cattaraugus County, NY, where her father was working in a tannery. She was the daughter of Frederick Agle and Louisa Schweickhardt. At some point before 1880, the family settled on a farm in Eden, NY, the town where her parents were originally from. She married Rev Theodor Carl Friedrich Lohrman on 31 October 1895 at the St Paul's Lutheran Church in Eden Valley, NY. They settled first in Millstadt, Illinois, and then in Decatur, Illinois where her husband was the minister for the German Lutheran Church. After he died there in 1925 and her daughter, Erna, married the following year, Ida and her last born went to live with Erna's family in Lincoln Nebraska. When they moved to Eastchester, NY in about 1938, she probably accompanied them. She never re-married. [1940 census?? and afterwards?] She passed away in 1963 in Mineola, NY and is buried with other Agle family members in Prospect Lawn Cemetery in Hambury, NY. . Children:
