George was born about 1815 in Ireland^[1]. He married Sarah Jane Dyer of Nelson Township, Canada West on 4 May 1852^[2]. The couple had at least one child - Jackson^[3].

• The only reason for making this profile is that the son, George Agnew (Jr.) is POSSIBLY my great grandfather. As of this writing, I have found NO substantiating evidence that this is the case but having done all the research, I thought it best to record what I found about George Agnew Sr. The "Sr. is probably no longer applicable. If anyone else wishes to take over managing this profile, you would be most welcome David Fentress.
• Maiden name of wife hard to read - could also be Dyee or Dyer.
• Upper Canada (pre-1841) and Canada West (post-1841) are today Ontario. Nelson Township was a township in Halton County - today part of the Regional Municipality of Halton (west end of Lake Ontario). Gore was a Historical Township in Peel County - today part of the Regional Municipality of Peel (East of Halton).
• Date of death unknown. "After 1867" is estimated as shortly after the birth of son Jackson.
• News flash - FindAGrave memorial # 87035735 is highly likely to be the correct gravestone for this person - death date 9 May 1904.
