Biography

John Ahern was 45 years old when he was found guilty of the crime of burglary. He was tried in Cork on 26 March 1849 and sentenced to ten years transportation. John was imprisoned on Ireland's "Alcatraz", Spike Island, Cork but died there in February 1852. [1].
