Biography
Pat Ahern was aged about 30 when he was tried in Cork on 2 January 1849 and found guilty of the crime of stealing a cloak. He was sentenced to seven years transportation[1] .
To date no records have been satisfactorily found linking Patrick Ahern to a convict arrival in Australia after 1849. It is possible he was sent to the Caribbean or died in prison.
