Biography

Ireland Native
Margaret Ahern was born in Ireland.

Margaret Ahern obtained free passage to New South Wales in December 1835 on board the Thomas Harrison at the expense of the Government [1]. These records stated that "the children" of Patrick Ahern lived in New Street, Carrick-on-Suir in County Tipperary. Does this mean they were not living with their mother at this time? It is also not certain if Margaret travelled out with her siblings and mother - the records mention Margaret's name only.
