Biography

Timothy Aherne was tried in Cork on 25 June 1849 and found guilty of the crime of stealing an ass. He was sentenced to transportation for life[1].

It is not clear if Timothy Ahern was transported to Australia as he does not appear on any of the usual Australian Convict Lists. He may have been sent elsewhere (eg Caribbean) or remained in Ireland.
