In 1940 she and her mother immigrated to the USA travelling from Liverpool, UK to New York on the MV Georgic on visas issued in London on 9 January 1940. In the passenger register she is listed as being born in Vienna and having her last permanent residence there.
In America she changed her first name to 'Geraldine', the name used in her naturalisation documents . She became a US citizen on 22 March 1946. At the time she was living at 329 S Cloverdale Ave. Los Angeles.
It appears that she probably did not marry as at the time of her death she was still using the last name 'Ahl'.
