Carl, son of Anton and Adeline Ahlers, was born in Nebraska and moved to Canada when he was three years old. The family lived in Alberta and Saskatchewan before moving to Richardson in 1926.[1] In 1916 the family lived in Bratt's Lake, Saskachewan and included: Anton (49), Adelina (35), Henry (13), Lizzie (10), Carl (9), Anna (7) and John (6).[2]
Carl and Viola were married on Oct. 7, 1936.[3] They farmed two miles east and three miles south of Richardson until 1955 when they moved to Regina. After two years they moved to Estlin to farm again for another five years. When they moved back to Regina, Carl worked for many years assembling farm equipment and making service calls to farms around Regina.[4]
Anton was born in Oldenburg, Germany; Adelina was also born in Germany. All the children but John were born in the United States.
