In 1820 he is living in Chesterfield County, Virginia with his wife and 11 slaves, 8 members of the household are engaged in agriculture. His will recorded in Maury County Tennessee 17 Oct 1821 names sons Pleasant, Ezekiel and James (deceased) and daughters Eliza, Polly and Martha, wife of Burwell Akin.
