Biography

When Alexander Aikman was born on 19 June 1874 in Govan, Lanarkshire, his father, Matthew, was 22 and his mother, Christina, was 24. He married Jane Watson on 3 January 1898 in Wishaw, Lanarkshire. They had five children in 14 years. He died on 24 January 1953 in Larkhall, Lanarkshire, at the age of 78, and was buried there.
