Margaret Aikman Janczak was born in Shotts in 1933. She attended Calderhead High School and worked as a seamstress for a short time.
Later Margaret worked as a nurse in Hartwood Hospital. She won the Mourdeston Meddle for being first in her class and was later promoted, ending her career as a Senior Nursing Officer on night duty.
Margaret met her husband Stan Janczak who was also a nurse.
They lived in Hartwood village and had a family of 4 children. Josephine, Katrina, Thomas and George.
Stan and Margaret travelled to France many times over the years to visit Stan's family.
In later years they enjoyed foreign travel and cruises.
Stan died in 2005 and Margaret passed away in 2018 after 2 strokes, which left her disabled, in the last few years of life.
