Military Service

Harry changed his name to Henry to enlist in the British Army in 1898. He took 6 years off his age as he was too old, but gave the correct details about where he lived and his father, Charles George Aird. Harry (Henry) was a batman and spent 1 year in Arica during the 2nd Boer war.

Death and Burial

He died when my father was a baby and was buried in a common grave in Greenpark Cemetery - no trace remains above ground.
