Jane Aird is the daughter of David Aird and Roberta Munro and was born in Rosskeen, Ross and Cromarty.

Parish Record Death [Jane Aird died at Rosemarkie on the 27th and was buried in the churchyard there the 29 of Feb in 68th year of her age. 1850.]


Widowed


Her husband, John Elder died on 31st May 1821 at Avoch, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. He was not alive to see his youngest daughter Johanna being born in early 1822.


In 1841 Rosmarkie Census 080, Enumeration Book 5. [Rosmarkie High Jean ELDER aged 61 poor widow Born in Co. Y] Jane was listed on the 1841 census as living in High Street, Burgh Of Rosemarkie, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. She was described as a poor widow living with her nineteen year old daughter Joanna and her one year old grandaughter of the same name.
