Biography

Mary Airey, daughter of Rev. Philip Airey, was baptised at Gainford, Durham, on 12 Mar 1771. [1].

In 1794, Joshua White Hall, Surgeon and Mary Airey of Gainford Durham, married by licence. It was a first marriage for both, and both were 21 years or older. Lachlan Sinclair, gentleman of Haughton, County Durham, is named on the licence as guarantor. [1]

Joshua and Mary (Airey) Hall had at least three children baptised in Gainford: Philip Airey bapt.1795, Mary bapt. 1798 and Eliza/Elizabeth Bapt. 1808.

Mary died on 14th March 1824 aged 53 years. [2]
