Biography
Elizabeth is often referred to in records as Betsy.
Her first child was baptised on 17 March 1806 in Yetholm, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
By the baptism of her second child on 4 June 1815 the family had moved to Hobkirk, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
Before the baptism of her third child, James, on 18 AUG 1817 the family had settled in Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, Scotland. They baptised six more children in the parish.
In the 1841 census, she is recorded as a widow at Bonjedward, Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
In 1851 census she is listed at Bonjedward, Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, Scotland. She is on parish relief and stated to be a former labourer.
Elizabeth died of stomach cancer.
