May was born on 2 May 1877 at the Aitken family residence in Sealey Street, Shortland, Thames.[1] She was the daughter of Alexander Aitken and Esther Unknown. She died on 23 September 1882 aged 5 years and 5 months at her parents house in Sealey Street, Shortland, Thames, New Zealand.[2]
She was buried at Shortland Cemetery, Thames, New Zealand.[3]
