Jackie was not the best driver out there. Her sense of depth perception was poor. She would be driving on a crowned country road with no white lines to tell her the lanes. You are allowed to ride in the center of such roads in Indiana. You must move to the right for oncoming cars. Jackie would leave the road entirely and claim the other car had almost hit her. These country roads were trimmed of overhanging branches by the county. Sometimes the branches would be 10 feet from the road and several inches thick. Jackie hit them and cracked her windshield several times which I know about. At her funeral, our sister, Marty told the hearst driver to ride with the left wheels on the berm. Several dozen cars were traveling between the funeral home and the cemetery. Over half followed the example and drove there on the berm. Those that did not, didn't ask why.
