Biography

John Ake was an early settler in Pennsylvania.

John Eck/Ake was born on January 22, 1764. He had two sons and one daughter with Pamelia Harrison between 1780 and 1797.

Baptism recorded at St. Joseph's Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: John Eck, of James [Jacob] and Anna Eck, born January 22, 1764, baptized February 1, 1764, sponsors Marius {Mark} and Anna Hunecker, in the vicinity of Philadelphia. (Anna Hunecker/Hornecker is the sister of Jacob Egg/Eck).

As per Monocacy and Frederick Lutheran Church records 1743-18119: Marriage - 7 Jan 1783, Johannes Eck and Mealry Harrison, Witnesses Jacob and Catherine Eck. Middletown Lutheran Church also has this marriage recorded; this is likely the same church called by a different name.

John died on April 5, 1850, having lived a long life of 86 years, and was buried buried at the Ake Cemetery in the village of Weyant, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.

Ake-54 and Ake-15 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate, the first name of John's wife has been found spelled several different way.
