George was born about 1844.

In 1880, he lived in Wapakoneta, Auglaize County, Ohio, with his wife, Sarah V., and children Virginia, Anna, and George A.[1]

NOTE: The 1880 census lists his birth place as Tennessee.

The 1890 Special Schedule of Union Veterans gives his address as 317 Mound Street, Dayton, Ohio.[2]

Civil War Pension

George applied for a pension on 7 May 1880. His widow, Sarah V. Akers, applied for a pension on 25 November 1903; her application was filed from Indiana.[3]
