He was born around 1764 in Buckingham county, Virginia. He died on 23 Oct 1859 in Huffville, Floyd county, Virginia. The cause of death was palsey. He was buried 4 in Huffville Church Cemetery, Huffville, Virginia.

Blackburn married Elizabeth LeSeure daughter of Martel LeSeure and Elizabeth Bacon on 10 Jan 1816 in Patrick county, Virginia. Elizabeth was born 2 on 5 Mar 1789 in Franklin county, Virginia. She died 3 on 27 May 1884 in Huffville, Floyd county, Virginia. She was buried 4 in Huffville Church Cemetery, Huffville, Virginia.

They had the following children:

  8. James Mosby Akers was born about 1833. He died about 1907.

He married Elizabeth "Betsey" Lesueur 1-10-1816 in Pulaski Co VA. [ b 15 Mar 1789 Montgomery, VA d 29 May 1884 Floyd, Floyd, VA ] Daughter of Martell LeSueur and Elizabeth Bacon

Research notes

One of the few sources we have for Blackburn Akers says he was born in 1764. If Adam Akers is his son (which admittedly we don't have a strong source for) then he could not have been born in 1770. There is also not a source for a February 1770 birthday, so the 1764 seems more likely.
