Biography

Private William Akins Jr. served for South Carolina in the War of 1812
Service started: March 5, 1814
Unit(s): Gourdin's Company
Service ended: March 27, 1815

William was born in 1788.

He served the United States during the War of 1812. He was in Pvt Captain T. L. Gourdin's Company, 43rd United States Infantry.[1]

He died, at the age of 89-90, in 1878 in Winston County, Alabama. He is buried at the Rocky Plains Church Cemetery, Winston County, Alabama.[2]
