When Abraham Littleton Akins was born in 1803, in Pickens, South Carolina, United States, his father, Ezekiel Aiken, was 43 and his mother, Sarah Elizabeth McCravey, was 43. He married Nancy Jane Chastain about 1824. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 8 daughters. He died on 27 December 1899, in Gilmer, Georgia, United States, at the age of 96.
