Biography

Welcome Amos Akins was born 19 March 1877 in Bulloch County, Georgia, the son of William Robert Akins and Frances Mae Hart Akins[1].

From Find a Grave

Bulloch Co GA Amos' father-in-law Greenberry Barnes built a large millpond and gristmill in 1883 (upper Mill Creek)[2]. He left it to his sons (to run and take care of his widow and sister with) when he died but by 1910 Amos and Maggie owned it. They advertised a large party there in the newspaper.

He died 19 March 1945 and was buried in Upper Mill Creek Cemetery, Statesboro, Bulloch County, Georgia[1].
