Joseph (Alard) Allard lived

Joseph Etienne Alard was born on 17 Mar 1752 and was baptized the next day in Saint-François-du-Lac parish in Yamaska, Nouvelle-France. He was the son of André Allard and Jeanne-Françoise Despain. Sponsors at Joseph's baptism were Le Sieur Etienne Hertel Lussier, officer of the troops at Louisbourg and Marie Joseph Desrosiers.

At age 24 Joseph married first wife Marie Ursule Janelle on 8 Jul 1776 in Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue parish in La-Baie-du-Febvre. There were 12 known children born into this marriage. Ursule died at age 47 on 3 Jun 1804. At age 52 Joseph married second wife Madeleine Gauthier on 18 Sep 1804 in Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue parish in La-Baie-du-Febvre. There was one known child born into this marriage. Joseph died at age 58 on 10 Dec 1811 in Saint-François-du-Lac, Yamaska; he was buried the next day in Saint-François-du-Lac parish cemetery.
