Biography
Norene F. Rau, 88, died Saturday at Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazleton, where she had lived for the past two years. Born in Danville on June 23, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Harry W. and Mary Elizabeth (Haas) Albeck, and was a Hazleton area resident since 1941. Norene was a graduate of Danville High School and a longtime member of Diamond United Methodist Church, Hazleton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William N. Rau, who died in 1974; and sisters, Mae Baumer, Isabelle Drum and Helen Dietz. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Ann, and her husband, Richard Nicholas; grandsons; grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry W. Albeck, Danville; and several nieces and nephews.[1]
