Biography

His family name is sometimes stated as Sievers or Sievert, which refers to his father Severin (or "Sievert") Albers. Albers itself is a patronym referring to his grandfather Albert Albers (aka Kruth or Kruthwessels, which seems to have been the original family name).

His grandfather himself was also referred to interchangibly as both "Albers" and "Kruthwessels". According to unverifiable sources, his grandfather acuired the surname Albers from his mother Lucretia Albers, whose father's first name was Albert.
