Biography

George Albert was born in November 1846 in Ohio (probably Cincinnati, Hamilton County). He was the son of Edward (Edouard) Albert and Christina Berger. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

There is a 22 October 1843 marriage of Edwrd Albert & Christina Berger by August Kroell in Hamilton County, Ohio.

The 1850 Federal Census listed George as living with his parents Edward and Christina and his brother Edward, Jr. while boarding with the Thomas Williams Family in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana. ^[4]

The 1860 Federal Census listed George as living with his parents Edward and Christina, his brother Robert and his sister Magdalena in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana. ^[5]

The 1870 Federal Census listed George as living with Martha Smith in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana. His occupation was listed as ____ clerk. ^[6]

George Albert married Anna Agnes "Annie" Lassner (daughter of I or J Lassner and C. ...) on September 8, 1870 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana by the Rev. John H. Hollander. His sister Magdalena was one of the witnesses. E. Dittmann was the other. ^[7]

The 1880 Federal Census listed George as living with his wife Anna "Annie", his sons Edward Paul and George Charles Albert and his sister Magdalena on the Laurel Street side of Josephine Street in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana. His occupation was listed as laborer. ^[8]

The 1894 New Orleans City Directory listed George as a laborer and living with his sons George Charles and Edward Paul at 35 Josephine Street in New Orleans. ^[9]

The 1900 Federal Census listed George as living with his wife Anna "Annie", his sons Edward Paul, George Charles, Joseph Oliver, Walden Robert and Clarence H. and his daughters Georgiana Naomi and Rosamond Anna at 440 Josephine Street in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana. His occupation was listed as clerk. ^[10]

The 1905 New Orleans City Directory listed George as a clerk and living with his sons Edward Paul and Joseph Oliver at 451 Josephine Street in New Orleans. ^[11]

The 1910 Federal Census listed George as living with his wife Anna "Annie", his sons Edward Paul and Clarence H. and his daughters Georgiana Naomi and Rosamond Anna at 2114 South Franklin Street in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana. His occupation was listed as a day watchman. ^[12]

The 1915 New Orleans City Directory listed George as a watchman and living at 2135 Josephine Street in New Orleans. ^[13]

The marriage ended when George's wife Anna "Annie" passed away on August 6, 1914 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana. ^[14]

The 1920 Federal Census listed George as living with his daughter Georgiana Naomi Albert Lanoix , his son-in-law Clarence Joseph Lanoix, his grandsons Clarence Joseph, Jr., Albert and Harold Lanoix, his granddaughter Naomi Lanoix, his son-in-law's mother Math Lanoix, his son-in-law's sister Olive O'Farrel and his daughter Rosamond Albert at 1232 42nd Street in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana. His occupation was listed as a steam roller watchman. ^[15]

George passed away on November 26, 1925 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana at age 79. ^[16] He was buried on November 27, 1925 in Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana. ^[17]
