Lisa, where did you get Benjamin as his father? I'm not able to find early records of him with a father Benjamin. I.e., I would expect to find him in the 1860 census as a 9-year-old.
Actually, I may have found a candidate. I couldn't find a Benjamin Albertson in 1860, so I went back to 1850 and searched for Benjamin Albertsons in Indiana since I knew that William Joseph would be born there in 1851. There was one Benjamin b abt 1827 in South Carolina, married to a Sabina b abt 1824 in Ohio, with a son Nathan E. born about 1849 in Indiana. So I went looking for a similar family unit in 1860 and found them in *Iowa* (where we know that later William Joseph would marry). The data is slightly off but close enough to be a strong possibility. See:
