Gladys was born in about 1908, the daughter of Millard Fillmore Albertson and Arabell Sewell. ^{[1] [2]}

She married in 1924 to Eland Lester Hammond ^[3] and they had children: ^{[4] [5]}

Gladys passed away in 1993 ^[6] and is buried at Fentress Memory Gardens in Jamestown, Tennessee. ^[7]
