Biography

George Albery was born in about 1805 in Liss.

George became a servant (a coachman/groom). He married Elizabeth.

Their daughter Elizabeth was christened on 5 Apr 1831 at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Godalming (Anglican). Her father's occupation was given as servant, and the family's address as Ockford.

Their son William was christened December 27th 1832 at St Peter & St Paul's Church, Godalming (Anglican). His father's occupation was recorded as servant, and the family's address as Church Street.

Their daughter Mary Ann was christened on 11 Jan 1835 at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Godalming (Anglican). Her father's occupation was given as servant, and the family's address as Church Street.[1]

Their daughter Emily was christened on 29 Apr 1838 at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Godalming (Anglican). Her father's occupation was given as groom, and the family's address as Church Street.[2]

Their son James was christened on 4 Oct 1840 at St Peter & St Paul's Church, Godalming (Anglican). His father's occupation was recorded as servant, and the family's address as Church Street.[3]

An elderly woman, Ann Cateran, aged 76, was living with the family on June 6th 1841; she may have been George or Elizabeth's mother.

A niece was living with them in 1861.

George died 24 Sep 1863 at his home in Rock Place, Godalming; his age, according to the burial record, was 60. He was buried on 30 Sep 1863 in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming, in the consecrated section. His occupation was given in the burial record as gardener.
