Thelma is my great grandmother. She was born 6 months before Oklahoma became a State. She married my great grandfather twice because she was under 16 years old the first time and her father had the marriage annulled and had my great grandfather Gerdis arrested. They eloped again and he let the marriage be this time saying it won't last anyway. It lasted until the day she passed away. Even after Gerdis died she never even dated. He loved him to the end. She passed away on December 21, 1995 in Ardmore, Carter, Oklahoma. I know because I went to her funeral. It was a sad Christmas that year without her. She's buried next to my great grandfather Gerdis Acox in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore, Carter, Oklahoma. Their youngest son Jerry is buried near them. Their son Douglas Acox and wife Mabel are buried in Lone Grove Cemetery in Lone Grove, Carter, Oklahoma. Their only daughter Yuma Jean is buried in the Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, Marshall, Oklahoma next to my step grandfather Harold Allen. Yuma's first husband (my grandfather) Willis I. Harmon is buried in the Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling, Jefferson, Oklahoma. He never remarried.
