Maria was born on 5 May 1830 at Reddish, Lancashire, the daughter of Samuel Albinson and Mary. She was baptised on 8 August 1830 at St. Lawrence, Denton. Maria's date of birth was recorded in the baptismal register. Her father Samuel was then working as a labourer.

At the time of the 1841 census Maria was living with her parents and siblings at Denton. No specific address was recorded but the enumerator described the area as "All that part of the Township of Denton commencing at Crown Point which is bounded on the west by South street as far as Chapel Green on the south side by Broom Lane from Crown Point to the Coach & Horses Inn and on the north and east by the Township of Haughton." Maria was aged 11.

Her father Samuel died in 1844 when Maria was aged 13.

Maria has not been located in the 1851 census.

Maria had a son named Samuel Lowcock Albinson, born on 18 March 1856 at Cottage, Chapman St, Hulme, Manchester, Lancashire. The father of the child was not named. His birth certificate recorded Maria, of the same address, was the informant.
Maria’s mother Mary died at the same address just days later on 24 March 1856.

In the 1861 census Maria and brother Samuel Albiston [sic] were residing at 40 Radnor St, Hulme. Samuel, aged 28, was a manchester warehouseman. Maria, aged 30, was a housekeeper. [RG9/2898 65 Pg 12]
Son Samuel Albison [sic] was boarding at the home of Henry Hutchinson, a joiner, and family, at 70 North St, Cheetham, Lancashire. He was aged 5 years. [RG9/2971 18 Pgs 29 & 30]

In 1871 these three family members were living at 207 Ward St, Hulme. Samuel, aged 38, was a salesman. Maria, aged 40, was still a housekeeper. Son Samuel, aged 15, was an office boy. [RG10/4003 145 Pg 23]

In 1881 siblings Samuel and Maria were residing at 48 Augustus St, Stretford, Manchester. Samuel, aged 48, was a calico printer salesman. Maria was aged 50. [RG11/3887 68 Pg 30]

Maria Albinson died on 27 July 1887 aged 57 years.

From the 1997 Index of Wills and Administrations - 10 September. Administration of the Personal Estate of Maria Albinson late of 48 Augustus-street Brooks’ Bar Manchester in the County of Lancaster Spinster who died 27 July 1887 at 48 Augustus-street was granted at Manchester to Samuel Albinson of 169 Clifton-street Brooks’ Bar Gentleman the Brother and one of the Next of Kin.
