Joseph was baptised on 11 Apr 1852 at Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, the son of Millar and Ann Albone.[1]
He was living with his parents in Stevenage Hertfordshire in 1861 - Millan Albone Head marr 35 b Biggleswade; Ann Albone Wife 34 b Stevenage; Maryann Albone Daughter 10 b Biggleswade; Joseph Albone Son 9 b Biggleswade; William David Son 7 b Biggleswade; George Ball David Son 1.[2]
In 1871 he was working as a potman aged 19 born Biggleswade for a licensed victualler in Marylebone, Middlesex.[3] In 2011 two Australians were doing the job he did.
He married Emma Toll in the Jun quarter 1872 in Hitchin registration district, which includes Stevenage .[4]
They were living at Letchmore Green, Stevenage in 1881 - Joseph Albone head marr 29 GNR signalman b Biggleswade; Emma Albone Wife 30 b Stevenage; Ernest W Albone Son 4 b Stevenage; Archibald T Albone Son 1 b Stevenage; Charity K Albone daughter 0 b Stevenage.[5]
In 1891 they were still living in Letchmore Green - Joseph Albone Head marr 39 Railway signalman b Bedfordshire: Emma Albone Wife 40 b Hertfordshire; Ernest W Albone Son 14 b Hertfordshire; Archibald W Albone Son 11 b Hertfordshire. [6]
