The profile has her birthplace set to "Albrecht Castle, Bayern, Holy Roman Empire," yet the biography section says she was born in "Langenselbold, Main-Kinzig-Kreis, Hessen, Germany." Which one is right?

I cannot find any such castle known as "Albrecht Castle" in Bavaria or Hesse. Albrechtsburg is in Saxony.

In Hesse, there is a castle near Langenselbold, in the nearby town of Ronneburg, but nothing I can find indicates it was ever known as "Albrecht Castle."

Dachau Palace was partly commissioned by Albrecht V (in conjunction with his father) but I can't find anything to indicate that it was ever named after him.

I really hope someone can clear up the question of the place of her birth.

Thank You.

Sincerely, Joshua Truksa, 7th-great-grandson of Anna Albrecht Foust

I agree with you. Plus, anyone born in a castle would probably not be emigrating. Well, maybe if they were the youngest bastard child of a servant.

I am a 6th-great-grandson of Anna Barbara Albrecht. I did find a Wikipedia article on an Albrecht Castle.(.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albrechtsburg). The timeline in this article fits the emigration narrative of this Palatinate Albrecht family escaping the Thirty Years War to find religious freedom in the Colonies. Also I have a source (Albright Family Records, edited by Marquita Ashburn McBane and Raymond Dufau Donnell, formatted and indexed by Marquita Ashburn McBane, revised 1 January 1993, published by the Alamance Historical Association, Burlington, North Carolina) which states: "...Hendrick Albright (Anna Barbara's grandfather) who came from some place In Germany with his wife and five sons. Tradition says he was wealthy." This also would indicate a possible scenario to support her timeline. I know this is confirmation bias and creating a narrative to fit the situation, which is not evidence, so what I am suggesting is to continue to dig into peerage to possible connect Albrecht I to Hendrick and maybe some other sources before dashing my hopes of ever inheriting a castle in Europe.

Albrecht-914 and Albright-Albrecht-2 appear to represent the same person because: Exact dates, same spouse and child. Target profile to be Albrecht-914. Only one last name allowed in LNAB field. Variation to be added to the Other Last Name field
Albright-Albrecht-2 and Albright-989 appear to represent the same person because: need to change LNAB to conform to guidelines...

Now I need you Carl to go in, since I cannot as I am not a manager on the profile and choose last name at birth. You need to change that back to Albright. The rest of the information I have already done. :) So when you look at it, Albrecht will show up as an aka to take care of the variation of spelling.

Actually the LNAB should not have been changed. I'll fix the change and show you how it should look. :) No worries, Carl, I have you.

I need to undo the change I made and change Albrecht-831 I to Albright-Albrecht, I think? Can you help me out of this mix up?

Left note with merge propose. Information from Albright-277 needs to stay while adding the alternate spelling to Albrecht to the profile.

Albrecht-831 and Albright-277 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. These two need to be merged. Please add the alternate spelling of Albright as Albrecht. Keep information from Albright-277 as it is more accurately documented. Thank you.

I am ready to proceed with the merger both are the same person. In my heritage tree I have brothers with Albrigh and Albrecht. In the family more had the Albrecht spelling than the Albright spelling. this is same person and thank you for helping me. Wiki would not let me make the change, I did not know how.

Hi Carl,

What we do with this since they are the same person is add the alternate spelling either in other last names or put it in the bio section so we don't lose it. In older years, it was quite frequent where surnames where misspelled. Doesn't mean they were diff people, just means that the person taking the census or writing the record didn't know how to spell. :) Let me know when we can resubmit this merge and I'll show you how to do this.
