Biography
- Henry Albright, the son of Jacob Albright b.1729 in Germany and Sophia C Welder b.1729 Berks Co. He married Mary "Polly" Gibbs in 1784 and they had at least six children:
- Jacob b. 1784
- Catherine b. 1786
- Nicholas Gibbs b. 1789
- Elizabeth b. 1792
- Joseph b. 1794
- Mary "Polly" b. 1806[1]
Henry Albright enlisted in the war of the revolution Aug. 20, 1781 in Hillsboro, NC as private, served three weeks and was made a sergeant under Capt. Trousdale and Col. O'Neale.
In Sept. 1781 he was captured at Hillsboro, NC and carried to Wilmington, NC, thence on a prison ship to Charleston, SC, where he was exchanged in July 1782.
