Frances was born before 1798. She was the daughter of Thomas Albury and Mary Goodman. She was baptised on 10 April 1798 in Simpson, Buckinghamshire, England.[1]
The family appear to have relocated to Haynes, Bedfordshire by 1819 as Frances and 2 of her siblings were all married in Haynes in 1819 & 1820.
Frances married Joseph Coles on 17 April 1819 in Haynes, Bedford, England.[2]
In records from the marriage of Thomas and Mary in 1795 and subsequent baptisms of their children up to 1814 a wide variety of spellings are used for their surname including Aubrey, Aubright, Allbright. It is unclear whether any of these should be considered the 'correct' last name at birth for the family and they were almost certainly illiterate. By the time of Thomas and Mary's deaths the spelling was becoming more standardised with Albury the most common version used.
