Dorothy May (Alcock) Hunt was born on 31 Mar 1917 in Watrous, Saskatchewan, Canada, daughter of John William Rupert Alcock (1881 - 1965) and Dorothy Gertrude (Malbon) Alcock (~1887 - 1940).

Her siblings were:
