Ann, daughter of Richard and Caroline Alcock was baptised at Sculcoates (today a suburb of Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire on 21st April, 1820 [1]
Ann married William Smith in Hull, June quarter 1844 [2].
In 1851 Ann (30, born Sculcoates) and William (29, born Potter Hanworth, Lincolnshire, a blacksmith) were living in Holy Trinity, Hull with their children (all born in Hull) George (3), Caroline (2) and Mary A (1) together with Ann's sister Elizabeth (Alcock) Page (1824-abt.1900) (26, born Gainsborough) [3].
In 1861 Ann (40, born Hull [mistranscribed "Hale"], William (39, born Potter Hanworth, Lincolnshire, an Engine Smith) and their children Caroline (12, born "Hale"), Mary Ann (11 (born "Hale"), William (7, born Willesborough, Kent), Richard (5, born Ashford, Kent), Ann (3, born Ashford, Kent) and Henry (1, born Ashford, Kent) were living in Ashford, Kent [4]
In 1871 Ann (50), William (49, an Engine Smith) were living with their children William (17, a Printer Compositor Apprentice), Richard (15), Ann (13), Henry (11), Elizabeth J (9 born Ashford) and Sarah (6 born Ashford) were living in Ashford, Kent [5].
In 1881 Ann (60) and William (59, a Master Engineer (M and E)) were living with their children Richard Smith (35 - a mistranscription of 25?, an Engine Smith (E & M) S E Ry born Ashford, Kent and Sarah (16, born Ashford) [6].
In 1891, Ann (70), William (69, Machinist and Smith, employee), and Elizabeth Jane Smith (23 their daughter) were living at 10 Providence Street, Ashford, Kent [7].
Ann died in 1891, aged 71. Her was registered in the West Ashford District of Kent in the June quarter [8].
