OBITUARY: Sigfredo Alcon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, left us to be with our Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, in Bloomfield. He was born July 13, 1932, in Tapicitoes, to Casimiro and Procopia Alcon. He entered the U.S. Army in 1952, he fought in the Korean Conflict and earned 4 medals and was honorably discharged in 1956. Sigfredo married Corine Manzaneres July 12, 1958 and went to work for the Highway Department, where he earned a living and cared for five boys and five girls, Lloyd (Martha), Peggy (Gary), Paul (Jane), Tony (Dawn), Dennis (Carla), Tina (David), Cynthia (Danny), Stephanie (Richard), Melanie (Brian) and Eric (Jennafer). He has 39 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Abel, Pres, Alex, Desi and Profedo and his sisters, Edwina, Cordy and Dolores. Sigfredo was preceded in death by his father, Casimiro; his mother, Procopia and his brothers, Horacio and Casey Alcon. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, off U.S. Hwy. 64 in Blanco. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Blanco. Our Dad is very much loved and will be greatly missed.
