She and her husband were among the "Balby Seekers" who joined the Quaker movement in 1651.[3][7] She is described as a "great traveller and sufferer" for her Quaker beliefs.[2][8] In 1654 she and others were pelted with filth in Sedbergh, Yorkshire.[9] In 1656 she was at Plymouth, Devon, where she helped guide the young Quaker gathering: she was imprisoned for two months in Exeter, Devon at the end of 1656, being taken ten miles on horseback with her arms tied behind her and her feet tied under the horse.[10]
She died in January 1673 and was buried at Balby, Yorkshire on 22 January 1672/3 ("22nd day of the 11th month").[11]

I have revised the bio, adding info and sources; moved some info about children to a research note; removed other info about her relations which belongs to, and is on, their profiles; and done general tidying up and editing of references so that weblinks are to specific pages of some sources.
